Austin is a Chartered Accountant with over 30 years experience dealing with businesses of all sizes from one man bands up to multinational companies. Having started his career preparing accounts for small businesses he moved on to Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC) where he was involved in the audit of multinational companies before joining an engineering company as Finance Director.
He set up Futers Accountancy in 2007 to supply accountancy and financial management services to small and medium sized businesses and to enable them to benefit from the wealth of commercial experience which he had gained outside professional practice.
Austin is noted for having a certain ‘je ne sais quoi’, oozes ‘joie de vivre’, and is regarded as a something of a bon viveur. He is currently learning to speak French.
Bill is a Chartered Accountant has a broad business and finance experience in industry, the public sector and the voluntary sector. He has his own accountancy practice in South Shields. Bill is hugely experienced and acts a sounding board for the other members of the team. Specifically he provides support in advising charities and other not-for-profit organisations as well as offering his vast experience and knowledge especially re grants and funding.
Bill is old enough to know better.
Peter is a Chartered Company Secretary who provides an outsourced company secretarial service. He has also worked for many years in the higher education sector and has held senior positions in the business faculty at various local universities and colleges.
Peter has a special interest in governance issues in private and voluntary sector organisations. He is also an experienced mentor and has helped many new businesses in South Tyneside.
Peter is the wild boy of the team.
Phil is an accountant and has been working with Bil Thompson for three years. Phil provides bookkeeping support and an in depth knowledge of VT and TaxCalc software systems without which all would be lost.
His ambition is to travel and meet people.
David Bradshaw is an experienced chartered accountant and Corporate Tax specialist. He has worked for several of the big four accountancy mostly recently Ernst & Young and now works as a consultant advising businesses of all sizes.
David often cycles to work in Newcastle all the way from Hexham despite owning a car.
